At Prince of Glory, we have an array of groups with different opportunities for you to engage with your church community. We hope you'll be able to join us at any of our upcoming events!

Book Club

Everyone is invited to join the POG Book Club and share in the love of a good book. Take part in our monthly discussions whether or not you've finished the book. For titles and times, check the newsletter or look for the posting in the narthex. Don't be afraid to take the plunge and bring a friend.

Is there a book you've read and are dying to discuss? One you're wanting to read? Come to book club and add it to the rotation. It's better than the library because you don't have to keep quiet!

Men's Breakfast

This group meets monthly, September through May. The schedule and sign-up sheets are posted on the red bulletin board in the narthex.

We meet in the fellowship hall at 9 am on the second Saturday of the month for a breakfast prepared by men from the congregation (volunteers are welcome). Afterward, if a program is scheduled, it runs from 9:30 to 10 (volunteers welcome). If no program is scheduled, we engage in a general discussion.

The Primetimers is a group designed for, but not limited to, “empty nesters” whose schedules are more flexible. We encourage participation by all age groups. We meet throughout the year for social outings and service projects, and all are welcome to attend.

Check out the big red board in the narthex for each month’s event. It might be to go see an original play in Chelsea, to have dinner to support a local charity or to take a trip to the cider mill. Whatever we’re doing, we will focus on having fun and enjoying the camaraderie of the participants. There are no secret passwords or handshakes to learn – just put your name on the sign-up sheet and come on out and have some fun.

Quiltin' with Love

We invite anyone interested in joining us to cut, piece, pin, sew, iron and size materials for Lutheran World Relief and other beneficiaries. Anyone is welcome! We look forward to some new faces across the table as we labor for our neighbors!

Wednesday Activity Group

This group meets weekly, September through May.

On the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, we meet at church and travel together to a restaurant for lunch. The time we meet vary depending on the distance to the restaurant. Sign-up sheets are posted about four weeks in advance of the outing.

On the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, we meet in the fellowship hall for Bible study. We begin at 11:30 am with general conversation, and Pastor Bob leads the study from noon to 1 pm.

We also attend one Sunday theater outing in the fall and one in the spring.

Women's Group

Women of faith, service and fun join other POG women in a relaxed setting to enjoy great teaching, discussion and prayer and to build friendships that become "strong towers" while facing various trials in life. We organize monthly meetings, events and service opportunities designed to encourage spiritual growth. Volunteers are welcome to assist with planning and executing any of our activities. We'd love to have you join us!

Contact: Jo Logan,

Youth Group

The POG Youth Group includes young people (and their friends) in grades 5 through 12.

Previous outings have included haunted hayrides/corn mazes, roller skating, ice skating, swimming, trampoline time, laser tag, video arcades and more. Parents are welcome to tag along with younger siblings. Suggestions for new events are always wonderful.
